Following the launch of the ‘Save Felton Common’ in local media, we would like to get people back together in Felton Village Hall on Thursday 19th March at 7pm to start working on the action plan (see attached) and events.
The first planned community event is to mock-up the lighting array proposed by Bristol Airport on the common in April when we hope to attract large numbers of people to show how much opposition there is to the plans. This will also provide a media opportunity and photographs to go with more press releases etc.
Volunteers are needed who can help make this event happen and work on other actions from the action plan.
If you have a specific skill that you think would be useful to the campaign, please let us know so that we can add this to our database. Skills might include practical building, carpentry, DIY or making skills / experience at campaigning /political or lobbying expertise /writing / graphic design/ creative / photography / social networking / digital media / cake making or anything that you think could be useful! 😊
Ted Waters in Regil has an exciting plan to record and film a 17th Century a cappella protest song called ‘The Goose and The Common’. Please send an email if you have skills that would help with any aspect of this and would like to help her achieve it. She would particularly like to speak to anyone who has video editing skills.
For next Thursday’s meeting, would anyone volunteer to take on making some refreshments please? We will provide tea/ coffee/ biscuits etc. I am afraid I cannot remember the names of those who valiantly helped out at December’s meeting, but it was so kind of them to roll up their sleeves on the night and very appreciated, so I would like to say a big thank you to them!
If you cannot make it on Thursday but would like to work on a specific action, please let us know and we will make sure you are connected to others with similar interests.
We have heard that the planning application is imminent, so let’s work together to stop our common being ruined forever!
Many thanks and looking forward to seeing you next week.
