We are collating all the information and action plans and will send out a further email soon.
However, one item needs urgent attention - and the deadline for this action is MONDAY 23RD MARCH - SO PLEASE READ THIS TODAY.
There is a West of England Combined Authority (WECA) meeting on 27 March. North Somerset is not in WECA yet
it has applied to join. Nevertheless, transport matters impacting on North Somerset are included in the discussion and decision making.
We are all allowed two questions and a statement each. Deadline is 12.00 Monday 23rd-so this Monday!!! Do it now…
The airport are going to use the proposed mass transit scheme to try and justify the 3 million extra passengers they are going to apply for. We think that it is a fantasy; there is no money set aside, no costings, no real plan. WECA would be in charge if it was going to happen so I suggest asking them:
Why not wait until the scheme is completed and then consider the airports expansion plans?
Is there an agreed budget?
When would it be complete?
Have North Somerset agreed to any proposals?
What would be the route (in view of the narrow gap between the reservoirs)?
Anything else you want to know.
Remember: we can each ask just two questions and make one statement.
